The process

From pickup specs to quiet performance

Hum is predictable. The fix is too—when the system is designed around the pickup. Here’s the simple path from choosing the right model to playing a quieter guitar.

1) Identify your pickup type

Choose the NRS family that matches your guitar: traditional single-coils, Strat-style reverse-wound middle pickups, or P90s.

2) Match the resistance range

Select the model that fits your pickup’s approximate DC resistance (kΩ). A correct match is key to strong cancellation and a natural feel.

3) Install and wire cleanly

Install the NRS with standard guitar wiring practices. Keep leads tidy and grounds solid for best results.

4) Play—quietly

With the right match, you get hum reduction you can hear immediately—while the pickup’s dynamics and character stay intact.

What you’ll notice

Less noise. Same pickup.

Ulbrick NRS is built to reduce hum while preserving the sound you bought the pickup for—attack, sparkle, and touch sensitivity included.

True hum cancellation

Designed to reduce the 50/60-cycle hum common to single-coils and P90s—especially noticeable under gain, lights, and stage power.

No “blanket over the amp” effect

Matched systems help keep the pickup’s top end, dynamics, and feel—so your guitar still responds like your guitar.

Quick answers

Common questions about fit, tone, and compatibility.

Will this change my tone?

No—each NRS system is designed to cancel hum while preserving the natural character and dynamics of your pickup.

How do I choose the right model?

Match the NRS model to your pickup type and approximate DC resistance range (kΩ). If you’re unsure, contact us with your pickup details.

Do these work with Strat-style reverse-wound middle pickups?

Yes—the NRS RWM is designed specifically for reverse-wound middle pickups and maintains the expected in-between positions while reducing hum.

What pickup types are supported?

Current models support traditional single-coils in specific resistance ranges and P90 pickups. Check each product’s range for best results.
